Robin

Post by gingerjo on Sun 19 Nov 2017 - 8:35

I was asked if I could make a robin by someone at work.
Never made a bird before and getting him fat enough was tricky to say the least. So I made two!
If you had ordered a robin would you be happy with one of these? Next problem is price?!

Well done on your first attempt, they are smashing. Of the two I like the slightly thinner one.
As for price - sorry not a clue!

Pretty good first attempt, Jo - wouldn't have a clue! We did a fun robin at Jewellery Group the other year, felted onto a polystyrene ball, but I could never do the rest of the shape. Think I'm with Di: guessing that is the one in the middle right-hand picture.

That's so funny. That was the first one I made and I loved it. I had looked at photos I took and sculptured that. Everyone was saying they need to be fatter etc so.made the second one. But they aren't always little fat balls are they? They younger ones may be and in the spring they are thinner.

I had a look around and people sell them for 35 😱 it won't be that, lol. If she doesn't like one I do so happy to keep for my tree.

Well done Jo, I think they are both good and I like the one with the white showing under the red, that could be because the one I have visit our garden has white just there. Price is difficult, is there any etsy shops making and selling to give you a idea, just don't sell yourself short or under value yourself.

You have posted to say they sell for 35, so ask 15- 20, if they have a hard reaction, give her the 35 addy.
I'm posting before I deleat that last bit of advice, lol
