ALPHA 2...ATC SWAP

Post by Guest on Sat 30 Aug 2008 - 16:41

This is the new ALPHA-2 ATC sign-up swap continued from the old site
. . . . . . . . . . . . . Alphabetical ATC swap.
The title will be: ALPHA-2a. . . ALPHA-2 b and so on.
This ALPHA-2 swap will be starting in September this year and I will run this swap for 26 months.
Each month will have a 'Sign Up By Date' and a 'Get It To Me Date'.
To join in you will need to make 4 portrait style identical (or as near as possible) ATCs. . mearuring 2.1/2" x 3.1/2"
. . . . 'Sign-up by date' for ALPHA-2a = Monday September 22nd
. . . 'Get it to me Date' for ALPHA-2a = Monday September 29th
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The reason for making 4 ATCs is, so that when your swaps returned you you will receive your own Number 1 of 4
(1/4) back each month and 3 of other peoples to collect. This gives us all chance to collect 4 complete alphabets
whilst keeping a memento of our own Arty work to peruse for further ideas.
If you save the received swaps in a 9 pocket collectors page it is nice to able to view a 3 month swap on each page.
(The kids Collectable Game Card Albums such as BRATZ & Hannah Montana are ideal for this as they have aprox 24 x 9
pocket pages per album. I have just been and bought another. WHSmiths)

Sign-up-List =
1-Teabag. . . . . . . . Done
2-Maria . . . . . . . . . Received
3-Amullree . . . . . . . Received
4-Di . . . . . . . . . . . .Received
5-Steph . . . . . . . . . Received
6-Mistyrat . . . . . . . .Received
7-Heleng
8-Mrsfeefee . . . . . . Received. . . (the 1st PINKY for Septembers ATC swaps)
9-kimb. . . . . . . . . . Received
10-thriftycrafter . . . Received
11-Glitterqueen . . . . Received

We do hope many of you will join in this fun.
You do not have to join in every swap, just if you fancy having a go.
Any media accepted, decoupage, encaustic, kinetic etc. as long as they fit into a standard ATC packet/pocket.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
If you do not have any 2.1/2 x 3. 1/2 cards I will post you some with some pockets if you let me know.
http://lousloonies.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=281&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=390
(These are the OLD Alphabet Letter X swap which I found a hard one to do as was the Y and the Z)

more info later. You can PM or e-mail me if you have any questions. I usually answer e-mail quicker.

Letter A on their way, I found it quite a challenge doing four identical though, quite different from just knocking up one.

thriftycrafter thanks for your best wishes and I am feeling a lot better now.
I have had a very bed week with a terrible head cold that ended up with asthma and I certainly did not need watery eyes after my op but everything seems OK now and I am on the mend again. Got my brain back, it's lovely I can think again. LOL. Even better when I can get my new glasses in 4 weeks though I will be able to see as well as think!

Right, back to bussiness, thriftycrafter I received your ATCs this morning and they are super.
Sue Amullree I received yours earlier in the week, 3 super sets and thanks for the lovely card it made my rough day a bit better.

Misyrat and Heleng, last day for posting today as I must receive them by Tuesday 30th (1 day later than stated on sign-up) so that I can organise and post the returns for everyone in this swap.

I like your Oriental as it is quite different, I was hoping someone would come up with that particular thing. Nice.

So all steam ahead for this swap and it looks to be a very good starter
for our Alphabet and I have sorted and photographed them this afternoon.

Now for the W.I.S.E. & Oriental swaps to do tomorrow.

Re: ALPHA 2...ATC SWAP

Post by Guest on Fri 3 Oct 2008 - 19:12

Here is our ALPHA-2A photo

Top Row N=Teabag, Accordion (gold background card is altered with Tim Holtz alchohol inks).. SD=Amullree, Ace High with chips, (background is funky foam, a nice hand if you can get)..Barbara18=MIL (Address).. DF=Mrsfeefee, Red Arrows, (bright red and, I think embossed, I imediately thought of 'the' Red Arrows in flight)..
Middle Row C=Mistyrat, Anubis (nice and unusual for letter A).. St, Atrist's Palette , (made with Fimo even the tube with paint coming out of it).. Barb57=DIL, Angry ? (I can't remember the title but it fitted).. Ki=kimb, Art (with pretty little embelishment).. H, Africa, (nice stamping with posh embellished letters).
Bottom Row J, Anglers, (nice stamping of two men in waders Angling in deep waters).. KS=thriftycrafter, 3A's (3 A's on 1 ATC, Amethyst, Army Cadets and Apples)..R, Aardvard, (an unusual letter A card using two Ardvardks with nicely made backers).. D, a Kinetic ATC, with a pretty flower named A?? (I have forgotten the name but the mini card takes out of a little vellum pocket).. M, Arctic Ocean, (a lovely idea for the letter A, looking over the top of the world and the North Pole)..

Mine came too, Got Nona's accordian, Heleng's Plains of Africa and the two part Aquilegia ATC by Di M, all lovely, and all so different.
I'm glad Nona's had rounded corners as the first ATC I ever did had rounded corners and none of the others in the swap did, so I thought I'd made a booboo, but now I think it's personal choice.
...and the one on the bottom row without any details was mine Sad but I thought I'd try and do a series of, things girls like (not sure how far I'll get) but this was attention and amethysts. It's got apples too, because chocolate and wine don't begin with A, LOL
They are a terrific collection and there's a lot of work in some of those.

Some super ones here - Haven't got mine yet - our post has become so erratic I try not
to think about deliveries anymore.
Glad you like my 'artist' Maria. I keep meaning to make more than 4 like Nona does so if anyone really
wants one and doesn't get it in the swap, I can send them one.

Mine have arrived too. I got Nona's accordian, Ace High and Karelyn's Girls Like.... Thank you. A lovely start to my alphabet Very Happy

I have to agree Karelyn, girls do like amethysts and attention (especially if it comes from men in uniform!)

Re: ALPHA 2...ATC SWAP

Post by thriftycrafter on Sat 4 Oct 2008 - 16:07

Maria, it was to help me think of what to do, I had so many ideas buzzing around my head, I thought that if I had a theme then I could narrow it down, but there are certain letters that, so far I haven't come up with an ATC idea for. Also it means that I would have a themed alphabet of my own atc's when it's completed. I also looked at countries, food and animals, but thought 'what girls like' might be a bit easier. I may well lose the plot after a few anyway and just go off on a tangent, time will tell.
Hope you get the one you're hankering after.
