Paper Trimmers

Post by cb on Sun 8 Feb 2015 - 12:26

Sure this has been asked before but I can't find anything. My Woodware paper trimmer will no longer cut in straight lines despite new blade and cutting channel mats and never really been happy with it What do you use and recommend before I buy something new?

I use a Dahle trimmer, Cath, but we've had it 24 years and I don't know if the modern ones are as good as the old ones - think the firm (German) might have been taken over. I love it and it's never let me down: good, clean cut every time until the blade starts to need changing. Think this is the fourth or fifth blade; have also had to replace the see-through bit along the top (under which you push your paper); and the measurements on the left-hand side have all worn away!

I have a rotatrim with I think has 11 different shape blades to it so if you want for example deckle edge trim you have the blades to do it. I tend not to use it the most though but not sure why now .I prefer the guillotine type ones for everyday use ,i think the stamping up one is best if I remember the reviews .ive had loads over the years but these two ive hung onto.

never found a trimmer that cuts straight, I have a guillotine now, and I thoroughly recommend the stampin up one.

I've tried no end of trimmers but I always return to Fiskars.  Mind you, I too love my guillotine, you can't beat them for a good straight line.

Stampin Up for me. I had a Creative Memories one that was really accurate, but could no longer get the blades when they creased trading. SU one is just as accurate IMHO.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing
