Altered Book

Post by thriftycrafter on Thu 1 Jan 2015 - 21:59

Did this on the retreat, but couldn't show you as I was giving it to the star herself for Christmas

The flowers are punched and glue gunned on to polystyrene balls, the Tutor had 3 on her version.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date Laughing

Saw this on my phone this morning, even better now as have a bigger picture to gawp at. Do you build a frame round the book pages?

Re: Altered Book

It was a Jane Hewitt Class at the retreat. I think I still have the instructions if you're interested. We used the Graphic 45 papers which are halloween themed, only as you can see also fairy tale. The idea was to use lots of frames and have layers to look through, the pages are not stuck together like other altered books I've seen, we just opened the book sort of centrally, and the black/cream strip piece is put in the centre, but not to the edges of the pages, then other paper are used to cover the rest, then layer up, foam pads, more paper, frames to suit.
