the Heart quilt so far

Post by Scrap Monkey on Thu 17 Jan 2013 - 21:03

After the wallhanging and the advent calendar, this is my first 'proper' quilt. It's going to be about 63" square when it's done. Thankfully I have two six foot tables up in the loft on which to spread it out; this was prior to basting the layers together. I have now completed that, and am partway through machine stitching the straight lines with the invisible (truly invisible to the naked eye affraid ) thread that Scatty very kindly sent me. Once that bit is done I can hand quilt the rest (the bit I like most). Apologies for the colours being a bit 'off', but it's a phone picture; will take a proper one when it's all done. it's a mottled cream, colour (and brown) in real life.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing

Excellent, Tina, and extremely neat too, bearing in mind you are relatively new to all this (have seen people who've been doing it for years and still can't get the fabrics to meet properly). You've done so well getting so much done in between everything else you have to fit in your day, and it's lovely that we have yet another craft going on on the forum!

Beautiful, I'd love to see this IRL.
I like hand sewing too, and you can do it in front of the TV unlike machining.
