Things made at Jewellery Group

Post by lyndaejane on Sat 10 Nov 2012 - 15:00

This is the board of stuff that I put into the display at The Station yesterday.

Four rings at the top: outside two are bling rings, centre two are made by turning wire at angles.
Next down is the Christmas decoration we made last year.
Next down is buttons and beads on wire: you could either make a bracelet or necklace.
Zipper brooch on the left and earrings from spirals on the right (wear these all the time).
Fimo earrings on the left and heated Tyvek earrings on the right.
Beaded spiral earrings on the left and beaded kilt pin on the right.
Felt flower brooch with beaded centre on left and wire-wrapped beach glass on the right.

Have done other things, too: still not happy with my hand-felted brooch, for example.

What a good display Lynda, and colour coordinated too. I like the spiral earrings, can see why you'd get a lot of wear out of them.
What's Tyvek, I need to see these IRL, please bring to retreat.

Tyvek is a super-strong papery stuff, Karelyn: sometimes they make envelopes out of it, but mostly the heavier-weight version is used in house-building - if you pass a building site or watch property programmes on TV, you can often see a partly-built house wrapped in the stuff with its name all over.

Remind me nearer the time that I need to bring them to the retreat!

Lovely pieces Lynda.
I like the simplicity and clean look of the wire wrapped glass.
