New York Layouts 3

Post by WeirdCat on Mon 23 Jul 2012 - 14:21

Originally this sphere was a sculpture in the World Trade Centers grounds, it was badly damaged on 9/11 but moved to Battery Park as a reminder of survival I guess.

It was only on the last day that we found out that the Staten Island ferry was free and went very close to Liberty Island so could have saved the expense of that trip, although I did enjoy our walk around the island so maybe I would have still gone on the trip.

I love the story of this tree. It was badly damaged/burnt on 9/11 however it had signs of life so was taken to a nursery and given some TLC and replanted in a nearby park. Then during a bad storm it was uprooted and further damaged. It went back to the nursery for more TLC and it was decided that it should be part of the WTC memorial as it seems to be a very determined tree!

Like the three sizes of the ferry, and the way you have layered them.
Lovely story about the tree.

Just what I was going to say, nice work.
Lots of reminders of 9/11. The weather looked good.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing
