Hello Heather - you are very welcome.

Yes, we are all in the UK except our beloved Maria who lives in France,
although we have been a little neglected lately as she has a new man in her life Very Happy

We come from all over the UK - I'm from Oxford (University) born and bred.
Hope you will stay around. We are quite a small group - that's why I like it here-
some of the bigger groups aren't so friendly.

Thank for the welcome, Lorraine.Looking forward to viewing your art as well.
Wow, I just noticed Steph's and your # of postings, which proves you have stayed faithful to this forum for some time.
I tried posting a layout, but even though I uploaded the file, no picture showed itself. Not sure what I did incorrectly.

We can't seem to attach images in the posts Heather, I don't know why, it's never worked, so we use Photobucket or another image host.

Hmm - don't listen to the others - they'll just say I talk too much !!

We normally have to post photos through Photobucket.

Hello Heather and welcome to this lovely place! Look forward to seeing you frequently (more frequent than me these days!!)

I have had two great trips to Nova Scotia and loved it all - especially all those little bays and climbs round the coast! Last trip was when we celebrated my late husband's 80th and it was just as great as the first trip!

Hi Heather and welcome. I'm Tina and I live in Wales, which is much nicer than England Wink, although I used to live down the road from Steph.

Hubby and I run our own business, a coffee roastery, and when I'm not at work I'm a lampwork beadmaker (hence the avatar). I also scrapbook, sew and make a few cards.

Looking forward to getting to know you more.

Hi Heather - welcome to our little forum! You will definitely find it homely - not a word we seem to use these days over here, but one which I think describes us perfectly.

I'm Lynda and I live in beautiful North Yorkshire, where hubby and I moved just over two years ago from the busy south-east of the country. I make cards and other papercrafts and am also an embroiderer, and have dabbled in all sorts of other crafts in my time (I'm retired now). The only time I've set foot in Canada is when we went to the Niagara Falls and went across from the US one evening!

Thanks for the welcome, Tina,Patty,Lynda and Dawn.
Enjoyed reading your info you shared.
Tina, you sound very busy on a daily basis.
Dawn,I hope you get a trip to Canada. Can't believe a lot of you gals have travelled to Canada.
Lorraine,thanks for the time difference.

I noticed that most everyone has been in this forum a number of years. Also like the fact that I seem to be in your age categories as well.

The registration date for most of us is a bit deceptive. Most belonged to another forum but Lou had to start it up again and we all shifted over, and all this after the original forum was shut down be previous folk who organised it. So we have been friends for quite a while!
A good core chat every day and there are one or two who pop in once in a while.

I've never been to Canada either, but used to collect Canadian stamps.
We were due to go for a brief visit to go to Niagara Falls - we were due to
fly to New York on the Sunday, then 9/11 happened, 5 days before we were due to
go, and of course, all air travel was cancelled so we never got there.
Unfortunately my health won't allow me to travel any more so it's never going to
happen.

Yes Heather PEI was a lovely place to stay for two nights. We were there at the end of your season so alot of places were shut, but Charlotte Town was a great place to explore, I had wanted to go because of seeing where 'Anne of greengables' had been based upon, we were told at the breakfast that it would all be shut so went into Charlotte Town instead, another couple didn't listen and went to AOG area and not only was it shut but the fog was in on that part of the island so they had a difficult drive there and back, They were Yanks so they know best, LOL I listen to local folks.

As for where I live in the UK, Hereford which is in the Midlands. Once a month I fill the car with petrol and go play at Tina's. Laughing

I stepped foot into Canada like Lynda many years ago whilst visiting friends in the USA and we had a trip to Niagara Falls. Don't think I'll ever get back now as hubby has lots of health problems.
