Quilt for Felix

Quilt for Felix
Here's the quilt I have just finished for my friend's grandson. It is machine sewn which I don't like doing as much as hand sewing, but it stands the washing machine and tumble dryer far far better than the hand sewn ones.

Strangely, I thought I had posted this earlier but it seemed to disappear, so I obviously did something wrong!!

Wow Patty! That is awesome! You are very clever!
I always wanted to make quilts for the kids using pieces of their clothing they have outgrown, but i have never got around to doing it.

It's so sweet, lovely work, is it pieced or printed?
They wiil be thrilled with it, a lovely heirloom.

Re: Quilt for Felix
Karelyn It is pieced and then appliqued, just plain bits of fabric from my stash!! Yes, have been to the Dulwich quilt show, but the best one I ever went to was in Paducah, Kentucky. I flew to Oklahoma, then caught a bus for fifteen (15!!) hours down to Paducah for the week. It was one of my most memorable places I have ever been/done and I made two lovely friends who live in Texas, and with whom I am in constant contact and hoping to go out and see them next year.
Sorry for the rambling!!! xx

Even more impressive Patty. Very nicely done.
Not sure I'd want to go to Kentucky with mother, love her dearly but I think I'd strangle her by the time we got off the flight.

Re: Quilt for Felix
That is so good, Patty - it really looks three-dimensional. Haven't done any quilting for years - maybe when I've finished all the other outstanding projects.....
Sorry I didn't post on this before: pictures take absolutely ages to load for me - if they load at all - and I was on here just briefly yesterday.

Re: Quilt for Felix
Well the teddy's head is stuffed a bit more than the rest, so he looks as if he is a real teddy sleeping. I am so pleased with it actually, as I know Kate and Tim (the parents) will love it ... right up their street. They are a simply lovely young couple.
