GBUK Competiton - Fire & Ice

Post by Bead Queen - Carol on Sat 16 Apr 2011 - 10:28

Ok, now that the competition is over, i am allowed to show you my Competition entry. The Theme was 'Fire & Ice'. I used seed beads in various colours to simulate flames and ice, with a few crystals throughout the piece to give it some added 'Sparkle', and the fab focal lampwork bead was made by Tan Grey (I didn't win, but there is always next year hehehe)

Here is a close up of the focal bit...

That's unusual Carol. Very imaginative.

What a fabulous piece, Carol: if that didn't win, I'd like to see the one that did!

Thank you everyone. I wanted to do something that resembled fire and ice, my original design was a bit more 'out there' but i didn't want to make it too OTT.

It took a total of about 5hrs to make on and off, over a few days.

Certainly a striking piece, you got both elements in there, you'll have to make sure you have something to wear it with, might have to buy something special LOL
I bet it's even better IRL.
What did you think of the piece that did win BTW?
