Decopatch notebook

Post by Guest on Wed 30 Mar 2011 - 12:26

And here's my first go at decopatch. It was a cheapo brown covered notebook, transformed. And so very therapeutic - we could drink wine and chatter whilst we did it all!!!

Very nice Patty! That's the sort of thing that gift shops charge a fortune for!

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing

Yes, some sort of specially coated thin tissue which didn't go "mooshy" when wet. We used modge podge I think and no, it is sealed with the glue, which you put underneath and on top of the pieces of torn papers. It blended nicely into the grooves and round the edges too.

Very pretty, nice way to brighten up anything with a boring cover.

It's very effective Patty and love the look it gives.
I've got some hodge podge somewhere

Would be nice done with paper napkins, too: have loads of those that I've bought/collected.

Trouble with the paper napkins Lynda is that they don't always lie flat and shiny, and seem to crumble a bit when you brush out the little ripples.

Think the ripples would have to stay in, then, Patty!

It's nice but I think I'd prefer a little more colour coordination, or a few less colours personally.
I bet it was fun to do.

As you know, I normally do extreme co-ordination and this was a "let go" idea and in the end I loved it. It is one of my favourite things I did from the retreat.

This is so pretty, I saw some decopatch at the last fair I went to, and seriously considered getting some, but decided not too. Think it would work with most tissue papers if you were doing it carefully.

I've used the tissue paper / modge glue on a couple of things in the past, most recently my recycled swap piece. Never thought of doing the notebooks and I've got a pile of them....hmmmm might have to add it to list LOL
