The end (at last) of the walnut

Post by Maria on Sun 3 Jan 2010 - 15:04

Did this with my total papercrafts kit from Dec, quite pleased with it but even more pleased the tree is down, we've been fighting it since we moved in, it was enormous and FAR too close to the house. Im glad its gone. We are going to grow a rose over the trunk and that large bit (too heavy to shift by far).

loving the lo and the papers
i would make it into a table if it were in my garden but i suppose it depends on where its actually sited around the house and garden

That's what I was thinking and the large bit could cut up for firewood or for the BBQ

I'm glad it's gone too Mia!! No need of a table, as it is just at the edge of their lower terrace where there is and always has been a cable reel used as a table. Couldn't bear the thought of not sitting at that at the end of a hard day's toil!!!

Forgot to say, love the layout. It is quite amazing how different you and I manage to make the layouts using the same kits! I am off to Total Papercrafts crop on Wednesday this week - yippee!!

What a lovely LO. That tree must have taken a lot of shifting. I like tree stumps, we had a nice one left after we chopped down a conifer when we were living in Cornwall. Planted daffodils as close as I could get to it and it looked great and then the ivy claimed it and it looked even better.

I always thought of walnut trees as quite little affairs, not any more! Great LO, I have those papers somewhere, must dig them out
