Out of your comfort zone...

Post by Lorraine on Tue 9 Sep 2008 - 12:07

Right, I've come up with another challenge for you, girls. I want you to come right out of your comfort zone here. Do a LO or make a card, but I WANT YOU TO STRUGGLE WITH IT. Mr Green

We all know what each others work is like and some of you have definite styles, so change it! affraid

If you like bright.....go dull.
If you like vintage...go modern.
If you like ribbons....use none.
If you like busy.....go plain.
If you like simple.....use loads of embellies or photos.

Get the idea??? and obviously, vice versa for all the above. You'll have to think a little about how you actually work, as it becomes second nature in the end, so changing it will be a definite thought process.

It must be plainly visible to all of us that you have indeed...GONE OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE!!!.

Have fun!!!! lol!

That is soo difficult, cos I really don't think I have a style. I do plain and over the top, I do brights and pastels, I do modern and vintage, linear, higgledy piggledy, all sorts.
If someone can give me an idea of what my style is, I can try and do something the opposite!

Haha - that's me Kim- sometimes I just don't know when to stop.

Di - I haven't really got my own style either. Depends on what I am
doing and what I have to work with.

So, I'm to produce something I'm really not happy with, then chose some poor soul to send it to, now who could that be mmmm.........
Watch out, if you get something freaky in the post blame Lou, who seems to have gone all grown up now and re-become Lorraine, I notice.
Decoupage I'm thinking Twisted Evil with yellow and loads of peel offs, and a bulgy shop bought topper.

I don't know quite how, but I had completely missed this thread. Yes, I will give it a go and won't use purple (or any shade thereof) or browns (or any shade thereof) and will use some "pretty" bits and some glitter too!!! Watch this space. Count me in Lorraine!

No deadline, Karelyn. It's an ongoing sort of thing. Summat to challenge you when you need one. Although, a few more to start would be most welcome. lol!

Re: Out of your comfort zone...

Post by Maria on Tue 7 Oct 2008 - 22:09

well I almost had one qualify today... did a layout with some white space, and it was on white, which in itself is odd for me. I though 'YES' I can put this in the 'out of my comfort zone' thingy and put it on the side to photograph tomorrow.

well it just looked so darn odd. Like everything had slipped to one side and left this big gap. I unstuck some of the title and moved it into the space... then added a couple of flowers and three brads. It looks much better now, but it looks, er, IN my comfort zone!! it looks infact, alot like most of my layouts.
