Granmas Travels

Post by kt_dragonfly on Sat 12 Sep 2009 - 11:22

Mum mentioned (before the big row) that my Aunt Barb had found a bag of postcards from my Granmas travels all over the world, I think she said all the postcards stacked together made the pile about 6 inches thick! So they thought it would be nice to put some of them into an album for her birthday. So I said I would make the album & here it is:

Have photographed this over the paper so you can see it. It's an Acetate front cover to overlay the main chipboard one:

Main Chipboard Cover:

2 Covers together:

And inside the front cover:

Stickers used are by 7gypsies - Travel Voyage & Vacation.

Lovely Kt - she will be thrilled to bits with it. I think it is a great idea too - I have a complete boxful of my postcards up in the loft so it has filled me with inspiration!!

Of course I'm gonna send it Di, it wasn't my Granma who peed me off. But will not be sending any additional pressies for my mum like I normally do! Also I'll be extremely cross with my mum & Aunt Barb if they dont do their half & stick the postcards in!
Ooo reminds me I should make my Granmas birthday card to go with it, seems silly to post them seperately!

Glad its inspired you Patty to do something with your postcards Smile I stuck all our recent ones from Ireland & Wales into a scrapbook with our photos. Nice to flick through them all.

Lovely idea Kate, sure your gran will love it when it's all completed.
My Dad collects postcards not sure how many he has though but the other week I went round and he was indexing them all in alphabetical order of place names!

It's great Kate, she'll love it. How nice to be able to use all the American words like vacation too.
Cath, that's a man thing isn't it, indexing alphabetically.
