horsing around

Post by Maria on Fri 5 Sep 2008 - 8:53

Did this one for this weeks class at the scrummy stash cafe - seemed rude not to after winning it last week! I didnt have the kit so had to ad lib a bit but its come out pretty well. (and yes mum, this is the horse that was 'falling out of the frame' in the bedroom - its been driving Patty mad)

That's great. Is that you on the horse ?
Is Beeleigh the name of the horse ?

Love the colours and paper.

Well thank goodness for that!!!!! I shan't have to jitter on about that picture any longer, shall I - and it is a lovely layout - hope you win again with it. Beeleigh is the name of the ride everyone, it was an old Abbey in Essex and is obviously in the grounds of that I should imagine.

No (since she's not around today, I'll answer for her!) It is her DH, Twizzy, leaping around.

Re: horsing around

Post by Maria on Fri 5 Sep 2008 - 19:52

yes I can confirm that is my DH - the horses name was Shannon and like Patty said Beeleigh is for the Beeleigh ride - an annual self sponsored ride - takes about 6 hours to get round, about 30 optional jumps along the way but best of all were the flat out gallops in between. The ride is held annually in September and lots of the farmers give permission to ride over their land as all the fields are stubble etc.

Shannon was not mine - infact she was owned by Alan, with the sick wife, who i have just been to Paris with and DH was asked to take Shannon round to show her off as she was for sale (he sold her the next week). I went round with him on my own horse but the photo was awful so was not purchased (the photographer sits by this fence all day and then they flog em to you at the end - for once DHs elbows were not sticking out, so he insisted on getting it!)
