who knows birds

Post by supergran on Mon Jun 08, 2009 9:46 pm

I have a family of what I thought were bluetits in the garden but have realized they are a bit small about the size of a wren but more delicate, and have not got a bit of blue anywhere, in fact they have green tummy's and a green sheen to their back and wings, but they do have the dark markings on their heads they are lovely little thing and there is a family of five, has anyone any idea what they are.

They sound a bit like greenfinches to me, but not certain.

Greenfinches don't have the markings on the head like they have.

Have you tried the RSPB website? They have a bird recognition part on there.
If they are babies the colours may be bit different to the parents.

Yes Di I went on there and I think they are bluetits or from that family, they never came to see me today was very disappointed, the trouble with trying to take a picture its through glass and with the sky as a backround but if they come back I will try.
