linen pole hole

Post by Maria on Mon 20 Apr 2009 - 8:26

Well i did this as a distraction yesterday - quite like it. It was based on a sketch in scrapbook inspirations. Nothing groundbreaking here, but it tells a story and we do have this ongoing problem with not being able to find the hole for this thing in the grass. On this day Twiz was about half an hour trying to line it up with the tree and whatnot! he was furious that i photographed him doing it because he always reckons its just me that cant find it.

i love it maria , so simple but as you say it tells a story.

i also love that view

we put a large stone over our "hole " when we remove the pole so its easy to find it again

Well I, too, have been the butt of great amusement when trying to find the blasted hole in their garden when doing my good deeds in times past of putting their washing out. "Line it up with the two trees" he yells ... "which trees" I yell back ... "those two" he yells, falling about laughing!!!! What a lovely layout though Mia - well done in trying times! xx

Brilliant I love all the little holes in the page.
I love that you caught him in the act.
Why do you take it out?
Ours stays out all year, we have a cover for it which we could put on if we knew it was going to rain for a week solid LOL Mind you I can't see ours directly from the window so it's not spoiling any views. Are the French like the Germans about laundry? None out on a Sunday or in public view?

Love the shaping on this V clever.

well Karelyn, its quite simply that I dont want to spoil my view! ours has a cover too, but we still take it out and just put it up when we need it.

Patty is even worse at finding it than Twiz. One year we all had to go out there with bamboo canes and prod at the ground... I mean how hard can it be if you know its at right angles with the olive and the plum and one giant step from the edge of the bed. (but I still cant always find it either)

and yes, they are a bit like that about washing.

Good fun, and a great way to show off a series of photos.

As Kim said - why not put a large stone over the hole - you could
always paint it to make it stand out more.

Or be like your Mum and put a shiny chrome "plug hole" cover over it, as used for sinks!!

well the stone and drainpipe ideas, we've tried both of them and we have to move them to mow and then they dont get put back. Quite liking the chrome plug idea.

Yeah, I like the goat idea, I think Lorraine has something a bit special on offer too, not perhaps as cute as the goat though.
You could always stick an English flag in it.
