Would anyone like.............

Post by Guest on Wed 25 Mar 2009 - 12:04

I bought some Courgette seeds this year but have already planted more than enough for my own use, so I was wondering if anyone would like to try one just for fun. I have 4 left.

They are called "Bambino" and are supposed to be dwarf plants for sowing in pots if you like. Info says: "Produces big yield of baby courgettes over a long period, needs well fed ground and regular watering for best results. Sow in pots in late March in a frost free place, plant out into growing position in late April"

I thought it would be nice to share a few seeds or maybe a swap next year.

Just let me know if you would like to try one.

Forgot to say, I was surprised at how quickly they came up

Yes please! We have a tiny veg patch and love courgettes! (and if we're not here, it will be something nice to leave for the new people!).

That's my 4 then.

Sorry Sue, no lidiot proof instructions else I would have used them. Just filled a little pot with seed compost, pushed seed into soil and covered it up. Stuck pot in a plastic bag, watered first, and it came up within the week. Afraid I can't deliver either.

When I have sorted mine out I will probably have some spare too. Got a big mixed packet with various squashes in it too. Certainly will not need them all.

I am glad you three have them, just have to wait a month or two, to see how they are getting on.

Not having a greenhouse, I am going to try the plants I have already grown, in different places, windowsill, outdoors, etc

Courgettes

Post by Guest on Mon 15 Jun 2009 - 21:53

I just thought I must write and say another thank you for the courgette seed. I have the plant in a growbag on the staging in my greenhouse and it is going like the clappers!! I have picked one really good sized courgette and another will be ready either tomorrow or the next day and there are three or four more already formed. I have never had such success with them as this one - so a big, big thank you!!

My courgettes are out of doors so not as advanced as Patty's. I do have 2 or 3 babies of about 2" long though, all hairy they are.
