Yesterday's PT2

Post by WeirdCat on Mon 2 Mar 2009 - 9:37

I used a Doodlebug kit for this and I think it's the best layout I've done using doodlebug, I tend to use the papers more for cards but I'd had the kit since last year so it was time to break it out. The journalling is my sulking about everyone else getting tons of the white stuff and us getting barely any

This next one uses American Crafts papers and I know the NY is wrong so that will be changed at some point. I downloaed the Friends font and handcut the letters as this is matthew and two friends stood in front of the apartment block featured in Friends

This last one uses Piggy Tales-Tortoise and hare papers, again from a kit. The picture is Rob and Sam and their Granda (my ex's dad) and the journalling under the flap basically says how sad I am that they chose not to be a huge part of the boy's life when we split and how much they have missed out on

Love the snowy one.
Nice one of them with Granda, shame they haven't kept in touch though.

top one ...i love it , all of it , especially the way you have used gems to make a snowflake , a very nice touch that is ...and that cute little snowman ..aaaawww!!

middle one ...why is the n.y wrong ??its a great pic whoever took that had a good idea in bending right down to look up to get the full height of the block of flats behind the lads ,,,great lo too ruth the sky paper makes you feel the height of the apartments behind

bottom one ...i love the way you have used 3 sets of lettering round the picture , it looks great and who'd have thought that using so many different patterns together would work , but it does

They're great, Ruth.

I suspect N.Y. is wrong, 'cause you're missing a stop?? otherwise, I don't know what's wrong either.

Ruth, they are great - I love the snowy one and I, too, love the different lettering round the Grandpa one ... a splendid idea and I might just have to copy it!

The top one is my favourite I like swirly things. The second one shows your boy having fun and the third makes me feel sad. Why on earth wouldn't grandparents want to keep in touch big time. Some grandparents of parted couples would give their eye teeth to be able to.

I love all of these, especially the snowy one! I also love the fact that you have scrapped 'real life', not just the happy lovely shiny bits' ; something i should probably do a lot more often.

Actually that gives me an idea....

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing

Yes I like the way you scrap even the ones which give you sad feelings. The top one is my fave but they are all lovely Ruth - I always like your layouts.

all of them are very well done and i too love the different fonts on one layout..it really works..i think you might mean n.y. should be N.Y. ..in capital
letters...but..normally i would agree, (always like capitals...its the teacher in me.) but...its for kids layout and they don't do capitals and its like teenage style.

gorgeous... :flower:

Thank you, I did a few times until I got one published in SBM, never tried again!

I agree the N.Y. should be capitals with two dots, it will get changed at some point

I love that top one, had the same idea when we had our pathetic attempt at snow, but I wasn't sharp enough to get the camera, it's a terrific LO. I think keep the letters lower case but add another stop, like you I struggle with the way kids do things, but it is right in this case.
