Fairy dust

Post by gingerjo on Mon 9 Feb 2009 - 23:11

I saw this technique for the card background in Quick and Crafty. Don't think mine has come out as well as it would have if it had been a smooth card but I like the effect.

Basically you apply a wash of water all over then add some water colour paint to it so they just blend together. THen sprinkle salt all over it. I used rock salt as it didn't actually say. Brush the salt of when its dry.

I then stamped some flowers , and thought I'd use the fairies as they look like they are blowing the 'bubbles' made by the salt. Added just a little fairy dust to twinkle.

Very pretty, and salt is better on a card than on your dinner.
