Ruth - Cards

Post by karinlouise on Sun 25 Jan 2009 - 20:53

I was gonna put this question on a thread of yours but figured with so many lovely card threads it might get missed.

What do you use for the base card?

Do you buy cards and envelopes as a pack, or do you cut and fold your own card and have a draw full of envelopes.

I ask cos I have both and I still never seem to get it right Mr Green The box with all my card packs in ends up being a table and so I then don't bother to go in there. Really should it would be far easier.

Your cards always look so lovely and the cardstock you use looks really smart. Mine ends up looking cheap and nasty....at least I think it does. :face:

i buy A4 size card and then make it into whatever card size i want for the card im making . i find that the card packs are a bit thin and flimsy ,unless you pay a silly amount of money . not sure about ruth but i think she buys her card from pda , same as i do

I am the same as Kim. I have got pre-made cards but often they are flimsy
and need some reinforcing. I prefer to fold my own card which I cut/score
to the size I want. I always use good quality. I think you need that as your base.

I know what you mean about flimsy. Some of the craft tonic ones are ok in that they are a nice effect on the front but not overly thick. I do have some others that I've had a while that are fairly thick. May just have to look into PDA. Though I've got a couple of drawers full of colours from Paper to Go when we used togo there.

thanks for that.

And PDA is>?????? sorry to be so ignorant

I like buying either A4 or (cheat) A4 linen card from ebay although it doesn't suit all cards
