Evening all, Maria I am not quite as bad as you but come close, I don't have a dentist at the moment but know I must get one but picking up the phone takes courage.
Dad has taken Matthew and Rob to some spooky fireworks thing, scary to both adults and children! Sam didn't want to go because of the crowds, not many fireworks going off round here which I am pleased about as I am one cat down, I can't find Frodo, I saw him at lunchtime but he was sick around then a couple of times so a bit worried, kids have told me not to be so daft

Just heard the best excuse for eating muffins
"You have to protect them as there going down to your tummy too, its like going for a bungee jump without a crash helmet otherwise.
Mouth to stomach is a big drop for a little berry or a chocolate chip, the muffin is the crash helmet"

Evening all, skin check went okay no problems seen, then I had an appointment with my GP, he has been juggling my med to stop me from being so breathless to no avail so now I have to have another of those angio gram thingys I had last year, lets hope that shows what the problem is.
I had as message from 'Windows Live Messenger' telling me I HAD to put their upgrade on my puter, and won't let me go in to MSN until, the last time I did that it mucked up my puter has anyone else had this please.

No its where I lie on a treatment bed on my side with my back to the doctor who is doing it and he then sits on the edge of the bed and leans over me with one of those baby type scanners, sounds awful and was awful, very embarrassing I can tell you, goodness knows why it has to be all contorted like that.
Steph the cream Lesley uses is Neutrogena Norwegian Formula foot cream it is concentrated so you don't use much but it is very good.
Its an Echo Cardio Gram that I have to have again

Hope you have a good day at the craft fair Kim, I'm doing one next Saturday so have been busy sorting out things.
Glad you have recovered from the dentist ordeal Maria.

You need to go into your profile>preferences and set it, Cath. The board time is actually correct, but you will see your own personal settings.
It should now be set back to GMT.Hmmmm, actually, reading your post again, I'm not sure what you mean, lol. My posting times are exactly what my computer clock says though, so no problem here.

LOL Maria, hope you're ok this morning.
I think I might have to start taining sessions at Christmas for the retreat, I don't usually drink very much, although I did have a nice glass of Jacques fruit cider last night, might go wild and have another tonight with the dancing on TV (and the mega pile of ironing in the cupboard).
My lot have all gone off selling poppies, I had breaky in bed, the postie's been and brought me a cd and some straighteners for DD's Christmas pressie, so I'd better get to the old Sat AM routing and get in the shower and clean it. Think I'll put the washing on the line first looks like a good drying day. I am officially a boring old woman.

Morning all, I too wil need to start practising my alcohol intake for the retreat, otherwise one cider or glass of wine and I will be comatose in the corner. Gorgeous day so far today although it looked grim when I got up.
Searched the garden for the missing kitty and the garage, came back in and down he strolled from upstairs, Matthew has looked in his usual haunts so obviously found another one. I 5think he just wasn't well yesterday, he spent half the night snuggled under the quilt with me but he was up this morning and ate the stinky cat food like he hadn't been fed in a week and was last spotted having a chat to a frog in the garden so think he has recovered. Need to put some washing on but other than that it's back to the cards

What the kip or the wash
Thing is our cat does the same, licks some part of your face to get your attention. Little so and so.We got X Factor tonight too, Martin out all day today with friend at the motor fair, Lily playing princesses in her bedroom and I'm supposed to be making cards, but thought I'd check up on here and ebay first.
I love B&B Pud too, though I always forget how to make it, can never find a recipe and so make it my own way, and so far its turned out ok. Might just do some for tea I think. Yum idea there Lorraine.
As for
practicing the art of alcohol, me thinks it will be the inky type only for the weekend for me. I'm not a huge drinker, and lately I've not bothered at all. I occasionally have a drink of something like Tia Maria cos its sweet and I cant stand dry drinks. Am making sure I take a coat down to the bar next time, cos if we get kicked out at 11pm again, at least I'll be warm _________________

Done very little apart from washing, spent most of the afternoon asleep with heatpad, have a pain in my back that is not settling, beginning to wonder if I should simply down a bottle of wine and go comatose for about 24 hours, sure the kids wouldn't mind/notice!
Re: Incidental - w/c 2nd November 2009
Aww, HUGS to both of you. hope you both feel better/pain free soon.
Well work was quite good today, mostly cos bully boy wasn't in so there was a much better atmosphere, even though we were on the bare minimum for staff.

went to jason and kellies last night for a xfactor/bonfire party ,but first we had to go running to our local tesco cos there local had run out of fireworks .then had to join a massive queue for them . we had hotdogs with real sausages and caramelised onions , sweetcorn ,on the cob .spicy wedges ,onion rings burgers and mushy peas and i just got woke up by a huge tummy rumble and pains so had to do a big trump and now im ok
so am having a drink of water while i write on here .
we had soem puddings and custard as well in the fridge but we were too stuffed to eat those so they are coming up here for dinner sunday ,today so we can eat them ,,thats their excuse for coming for dinner anyway .

Just catching u[ bfore the grandkids hit the house and normal Sunday
chaos is applied.
Craft fair yesterday was very small. All I bought was 2 pads that are great
for card inserts. The girls both hand painted a couple of things but that was
it. There was a table with loads of boxes and even my son commented how
amateurish they lookied. The boxes were nice, but all the woman had done
was to stick a picture or a peel off on top of them - that was it - I think even
a non crafter would have said how awful they were.

well done for selling that bit of jewellery anwyay Kim - not your fault if there werent many customers, I think the trouble is just noone is doing well at the moment and noone has any money at all.
Steph, sorry your show didnt have much either.
Lorraine seems to have done a bunk again. SHOW YOURSELF!!
We had a lie in and were having a brunch (in our dressing gowns) at 11am when three firemen appeared at the door. (to the french there is NOTHING more weird than not eating at the appointed times). They were on their yearly calendar call - you have to 'tip' them and they give you a calendar but they are all volunteers and the money goes to buy their insurance or something. It gets expensive because you have this from the postman, dustmen and police too and whether or not you want the calendar is irrelevant. Anyway, you would be a fool not to pay the firemen (20 euros is the going rate)because well, what if you needed them, you dont want them dragging their heels do you and I do recall when the field round our house caught fire last summer and they came from everywhere. Anyway, they had a little chortle at our brunch, and asked if we always had haricot rouge (baked beans) for breakfast. Most french think the english eat bacon and egg for breakfast every day anyway so this just confirmed their beleif that we were completely potty.
No remembrance service here today either - the armistice is a holiday and there is a service in all villages but its always on the actual day (ie Wednesday) which means a walk in the rain, calling out all the names and a silence of however long the maire thinks is reasonable and then drinks in the salle de fete to warm up.
yes Kim, the new temporary teeth are bright white!
Wizard of Oz (original and best version) is on this afternoon so I shall be snuggling up with that - I love that film. Got a layout to do before then though.
right, thats it from life in a french village. Have a good day all.

Re: Incidental - w/c 2nd November 2009
I have just come indoors from a horrid job out in the shed. Been defrosting the outside freezer which has been sadly neglected this year and I will never, ever leave it so long again. It has taken hours and hours ... mind you, it's so blooming cold out there I was able to lift out the baskets and leave them in the garden and nothing has defrosted at all, not even the bread! Still, all done now and washed and dried and re-packed, so I have a clear conscience to get indoors in the craft room, along with a nice glass of wine and start getting my stuff ready for my craft retreat next weekend with all my craft friends from our local club. I am SO looking forward to it.
